Liff, Walsh & Simmons and Hammond Wilson obtain special exception for largest downtown Annapolis restaurant approval on City Dock.

Liff, Walsh & Simmons partner and Land Use Practice Director Phil Dales and Leo Wilson of Hammond Wilson architects made the case for a new restaurant at the well-known 110 Compromise Street site (the former “Fawcett’s Building”) to the Annapolis Board of Appeals.  The final approval allows for nearly 500 seats distributed across two levels and three restaurant spaces. Notably, the approval will add nearly 200 of those 500 as outdoor waterfront dining seating along famous Ego Alley. Hammond Wilson’s building design delivers incredible views of the City Dock and the Chesapeake Bay as well as increased public access to the water’s edge. The Board of Appeals decision follows several other approvals from the Historic Preservation Commission and various City officials. Said Phil Dales, “We’re all looking forward to having this prominent location come to life with the sound of clinking glasses and happy diners”!
